This Douglas fir material is salvaged from decommissioned maraschino cherry vats. The Center Cut grade is smooth planed, exposing the tight clear grain and salmon color tones of this species. Typically, 10–20% of these planks will include some dark staining.

Price ranges from $6.45–$8.95/sf unfinished.

Originally constructed during the 1930s and 1940s, these wooden vats were brining Maraschino cherries
until about a decade ago when they were replaced with stainless steel tanks. Nearly 45 million pounds
of cherries each year are still grown and brined in Oregon’s fertile Willamette Valley and Columbia River Gorge!
