Employee Ownership (ESOP)

Pioneer Millworks & New Energy Works

We are a 100% Employee-Owned company.

Pioneer Millworks operates on the triple bottom line—a simple belief that people, planet, and profit work together to ensure a better future. Our coworkers are more than just employees, they’re a critical part of what makes our company successful. Accordingly, we offer our teams flexibility, competitive compensation, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes the largest long-term wealth-building tool an employer can provide—an ESOP (or Employee Stock Ownership Plan). There is no buy-in fee to becoming an ESOP owner here, a coworkers time working for the company determines eligibility -- which means that all coworkers will eventually become employee-owners over time.

Every individual coworker has an ownership mentality because we are 100% Employee-Owned through our ESOP. Being Employee-Owned also means all coworkers have a directly vested interest in the profitability of the company, the cultural values we represent, and the quality work we do.

What is an ESOP?

An ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) is an employee benefit plan that enables coworkers as a group to own interest in part, or all, of a business in the form of shares of stock. It is also a type of Trust that acts as a retirement plan, similar to a 401K, by investing in company stock and holding its assets in the Trust for employee-owners, at no cost to those employee-owners, that also increases employee retention long term.

Our ESOP Communications Committee, or ECC as it is known internally, is made up of nominated internal coworkers who serve a 3 year term. These ECC members come from a variety of departments, tenures, and demographics. They bring their collective skill sets to not only educate new coworkers about our ESOP and how it works, but continually bring ESOP into everyday business decisions. They also lean subcommittees that reinforce our ESOP and triple bottom line (people, planet, and prosperity) ethos such as business improvement & feedback, donations, community & culture, and planet.
