Available in a consistent 5” width, the skipped planed original patina face also has occasional nail holes and ferrous staining giving these planks subtle character, reminding us of their past life. Available in 18” to 12’, once installed it will look like it’s been in your home for ages.

A reclaimed classic, Longleaf Southern Yellow Pine timbers  (the source of Heart Pine) were so frequently used in industrial construction they are often referred to as the wood our country was built on. Because of its abundance and geographical location, Heart Pine timber was an obvious choice for building and craft from the southern tip of Virginia all the way to central Florida. Most, if not all of the era’s factories, mills, schools, and public buildings used Heart Pine as their structural foundation. 

Heart Pine’s dense grain patterns and high resin content confirm it to be hard and durable. As the Longleaf Pine matures its core, or heartwood, becomes saturated with oils and resins. As these develop the central heartwood increases in density, durability and also gains a greater resistance to decay. Our Character Select grade offers lively grain variation, knots, nail holes, swirling colors, durability, and history. A perfect combination that’s tailor-made for flooring brimming with personality.
