Skyline™ exterior, Pioneer Millworks’ dimensional wall cladding was developed to be a sophisticated and customizable outdoor option for both commercial and residential projects. Skyline™ provides a number of options for arrangement and usage. Its inherent flexibility due to its variety of interchangeable widths, milling heights, and range of lengths.

Skyline™ exterior comes prefinished with a poly sealer in three proprietary colors ready to install. Containing two coats on its face and one on its back, outdoor elements are no match for its durability.

From its beginnings as an FSC-certified® and cradle-to-cradle certified wood, to its uses as a modular siding brimming with design ideas, Skyline™ is able to accommodate any dimensional landscape idea while also being a top choice for sustainability and material health.

For Skyline’s™ exterior applications Accoya® is our species of choice. Accoya is a modified softwood.  Radata pine, a quick-growing tree in sustainably managed forests is then harvested, submerged in a vinegar like mixture, and put under pressure. This process, called acetylation, changes the inherent molecular structure of the wood and prevents the interior cells from absorbing water, giving this softwood the properties of a highly stable hardwood. 

This acetylation process gives Accoya other benefits too. It is impervious to rot and remains stable regardless of the climate where it is installed. Insects are deterred from using Accoya as a food source, since most of the wood’s sugars are changed through the process, which lends an additional layer of longevity.

Architects are also excited about Skyline’s™ modularity and the creativity that it allows. New Energy Works David Shirley adds, “The possibilities of its use immediately struck me – accent walls, commercial, hospitality spaces in a contemporary setting. It’s another siding option that gives me a new facet to which be more creative in the design process.”
