Opposites Attract
Pioneer Millworks 2025 seasonal pallet is designed for architects, builders, and homeowners looking to develop a specific feel and intent. Pulled from our varied array of five colors our focus falls on two of our specialized hues.
These colors straddle the line between rustic and refined, with reds that hail from the Adirondack Great Camps of the Northeast, and lush greens that pull from mountain forest landscapes.
Reds and greens are naturally complimentary colors. Cool and calm, green is reminiscent of the natural world – hot and expressive, red elicits passion and urgency. They stand apart through their visual contrast yet can relate by creating dynamic visual appeal.

These colors can develop creative tension, as well as conformity based on their surroundings and usage.
Many folks are fearful to use red and green in design because of their recognition as Christmas colors, but when applied intentionally these colors can evoke a striking array of feelings and diverse design intents.
Bright and stylish, or darkened and muted, our sophisticated renditions of green and red are created to elicit a vibe that can blend with most any idea. Both of our updated versions of these hues play well with other colors and substrates. They can soften blacks and metallics and also bring a vibrant focus to architectural elements.

Our “Mountain Laurel” provides cool warmth and complexity to wood and stone elements and offers a nature-centric aesthetic. It can assimilate and bridge the gap between rustic design elements.
On the opposite side of the color coin, our “Poppy,” features rich burgundy undertones that pair perfectly with whites and creams for a timeless feel, or adds a touch of class when blended with muted greys. ‘Poppy’ can even pair with a lighter version of red to create a major color statement.

By staying flexible and aware of trends we can help keep design ideas fresh by offering fresh variations on recognized standards. With a specialized take on traditional colors, our “Poppy,” and “Mountain Laurel,” are thoughtful evolutions from the norm, that can make a major color statement on your next project.
