Show the world who you are with Skyline, ™ Pioneer Millworks multidimensional wood cladding system, and discover a designer’s tool kit that plays in dimensionality with personality. Whether you are investigating a traditional board and batten design or experimenting with a graduated ombre´ on a diagonal, Skyline’s™ ability to convey itself through your home or business’s aesthetic is a gift of architectural design.

Universally interchangeable, the modularity, flexibility, and colors of Skyline™ allow designers the ability to express themselves on a large scale. There isn’t a set formula for Skyline’s™ multifarious uses, there are nearly no limitations. By combining the cladding’s diverse height, width, and colors a multitude of dimensional relationships can be created.

Conceptualize and realize specialized interior accent walls or functional exterior walls. Initiate implied movement or build a melodic repeat. Because of its milling profile, the individual Skyline™ segments fit together comfortably and seamlessly no matter the combination you desire. You can puzzle-piece your concepts into extravagance or arrange them cleanly and crisply into simple and classic designs.

Diversify your defining architectural moment with nine interior and three exterior color options that will lend additional dimensions to your ideas. Work with soft shading or vibrant accent, the Skyline™ color wheel is as flexible as the cladding itself offering an endless array of combinations.

“There’s an immersive experience to the way that the wood, colors, and dimensions react--casting shadows and creating additional hues within the hues,” says Deanna Varble, marketing and creative director for Pioneer Millworks. “The designer can really make the pattern their own. There isn’t a set rubric on what you can do with Skyline, it’s really up to the imagination of the maker.”

“The possibilities of Skyline’s use immediately struck me,” says David Shirley, AIA from New Energy Works. “Accent walls, commercial, hospitality spaces in a contemporary setting. It’s another siding option that gives me a new facet to which be more creative in the design process.”

This prospective diversity of usage is also what separates it from other similar products.  Jeff Klymson architect from Collective Office Chicago agrees, “The profiles work very well, the fasteners are well hidden, the scale and proportions of the boards have a wide variety of applications.” From conception to full scale realization, Skyline™ can articulate your design intent into a tangible piece of long-term personal expression.

While the colors and dimensionality are the features that make Skyline™ special, the choices for species are unique and intentional. For Skyline’s™ interior applications, the cladding is made from sustainably harvested Forest Stewardship Council® FSC-Certified hardwoods. For exterior applications we use Accoya®, an FSC-certified, cradle-to-cradle platinum certified modified softwood with a warranty for outdoor use.

What you gain in either case is using a natural, carbon sequestering material, “We wanted to create a dimensional paneling option in wood that allowed designers to really play,” shares Pioneer Millworks Operations Manager Jonathan Taylor. “Yes, we’re wood people so we were going to use wood in some form to make Skyline™. But which woods were a real conversation. Which species would provide the stability for this tongue & groove slat system to work and be easily installed, while allowing designers to focus on color, dimension, and shadow. And then factor in wanting to use solid wood, with no binding chemicals or plastics, for planet & human health—the decisions are intentional. We hope this gives designers real freedom to play and create some incredible dimensional landscapes in wood.”
